Sharpening of scissors

Sharpening of scissors

Learn how to sharpen scissors by Keld Lisby

Do you have dull scissors that you want to make sharp again? Then you just need to start sharpening a pair of scissors. Sharpening scissors is actually quite easy when you have a good scissor sharpener. On the market, you can find both electric scissor sharpening machines - large and small - as well as smaller manual sharpeners.

See how easy it is to learn how to sharpen scissors on a Worksharp MK2

In the video below, Keld Lisby shows how to sharpen scissors on an electric "scissor sharpener" called Worksharp MK2.
With it, you can sharpen scissors whether it's kitchen scissors, hairdressing scissors, children's scissors, etc. that have become dull at home. But the sharpener can do much more than just sharpen scissors.

To use in the above video, you will need:

If you buy the Work Sharp MK2 knife and tool sharpener new, you will also get the above sharpening belts. You can also choose to buy a mix of the 3 sharpening belts mentioned above in a bundle, which is a cheaper solution if you don't expect to do a lot of sharpening right away.

Guidance for sharpening belts for the MK2 knife sharpener:
Sharpening belt k.80 is the belt you should start with if your scissors have nicks on the edge. Otherwise, you can go directly to sharpening belt k.220, which you will sharpen the scissors with. K.6000 makes your scissors extra sharp, but you cannot start with this sharpening belt when you are going to sharpen scissors. For that, you need to start with either k.80 or k.220 depending on how dull your scissors are.
